7. Summary
It has become clear that consumption of certain dietary components have a profound influence on health outcomes. The impact of dietary behaviors and life styles on health/disease status was proved by many epidemiological, clinical and experimental studies. Among those dietary components, garlic oil from Allium Sativum has been evidenced to have substances inhibit variety of diseases including chemical induces tumors in animals . One of these substances is diallyl disulphide (DADS), which is a major organosulfur compound found in garlic oil. DADS is demonstrated to be effective in reducing the growth of human tumor cells originating from colon, lung and skin. In this study we aimed to focus on the DADS preventive effect of DMH induced carcinogenicity through peripheral blood cells and colorectal tissues of rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) in vivo. Total 20 rabbits were assorted into equal five groups, four for each and treated for four weeks as following:-  group (A) received vehicle control only (distilled water containing 1 mM EDTA) via subcutaneous injection.  group (B) received DMH only [20 mg/kg dissolved in the vehicle control].  group (C) received DADS only (60 mg/kg, via intragastric intubation).  group (D) received both of DADS and DMH.  group (E) received DADS for the first 4 weeks followed by DMH for extra 4 weeks.
