Abstract This study was done to survey the causes and outcomes of acute kidney injury which is the new consensus term of acute renal failure .It refers to a clinical syndrome characterized by rapid decline in execratory function with accumulation of product of nitrogenous metabolism such as urea ,creatinine and other waste product. Several factors increase the risk of AKI such as gastroenteritis with sever dehydration ,acute post streptococcal glomerulonephritis , sepsis , use of nephrotoxic drugs ( NSAIDS ,amino glycosides ) and young age In our study there were 104 patient of AKI 59 (56.7%) of them were males and 45 (43.3%) were females with M: F ratio 1.3:1 . According to residence 47.1% came from urban areas and 52.9% came from rural areas. |
