Abstract The present study was conducted to survey the extent of presence of residues of 11PAHs namely naphthalene, acenaphthylene, acenaphthene, fluorene, phenanthrene, anthracene, fluoranthene, chrysene, benzo(b) fluranthene, benzo (a) pyrene, and dibenzo(a,h) anthracene in grilled Tilapia nilotica & Mugil cephalus fish samples (25 samples for each) were collected from different markets in Sharkia Governorate. The results revealed that the incidence of anthracene, benzo (b) fluranthene, benzo (a) pyrene, and dibenzo(a,h)anthracene residues were detected in grilled Tilapia nilotica fish samples is higher than those detected in grilled Mugil cephalus fish samples. On the other hand, the incidence of presence of naphthalene, acenaphthene, and phenanthrene residues were detected in grilled Tilapia nilotica fish samples is lower than those detected in grilled Mugil cephalus fish samples. Meanwhile, acenaphthylene, fluorine, fluoranthene and chrysene residues were detected at the same percent in both grilled Tilapia nilotica and Mugil cephalus fish samples. Also the results indicated the presence of total PAHs by mean values 1049 ± 257 and 1112 ± 253 µg/kg in Grilled Tilapia nilotica and Mugil cephalus respectively. |
