Abstract Seventy five chicks one day old (cobb strain) used in this study to investigate effect of L – arginine on growth rate and immunity of broiler chicks indifferent level which divided into 5 main groups (15 chicks/each) until 6 weeks old as follow group 1(negative control) which receive ration contain l-arginine (85%) (with no arginine supplementation) , group 2 (positive control) which fed on ration contain 100% (with no arginine supplementation , group 3 which fed on ration contain 110% arginine , group 4 which fed on ration contain 120% arginine, group 5 which fed on ration contain 130% arginine . The following parameters have been measured:Feed intake and weight gain parameters ,Carcass yield % and weights of proventriculus, gizzard, bursa, liver, spleen and heart ,Hematological parameters (Total and differential leucocytic count) ,Biochemical parameters (serum proteins, globulins fractions, serum lipids and serum nitric oxides) ,In addition to taking sample from breast muscle and examined under electron microscope (TEM). The results showed a significant increase FBW and relative weight of different organs in group 2 (100%) when compared with other groups except weight of bursa and spleen which show a signifucant increase in group 3,4,5.Total cholesterol and tri-gylcerol showed significant decrease in supplemented groups (3,4,5).Total protein showed no significant difference except for group 5 after 6 weeks showed a significant increase .Total leukocyte count showed a significant increase in supplemented groups .While NO level showed a significant increase in 3,4,5after 6 weeks old . TEM for breast muscle showed hypertrophy in semi thin section of group 5.So we recommended level of arginine should not lower than 100%; As it improve immunity and decrease incidence of diseases. |
