The present work aimed mainly to: 1- Discuss the effect of hyperlipidemia induced in rabbits on many biochemical and histological parameters. 2- Investigate athero-protective effect of 10-dehydrogingerdione, a natural component isolated from Zingiber Officinale, related to its CETP inhibitory activity as a new strategy for treatment, additionally natural products namely ginger and curcuminoid extracts. To fulfill such objectives, the following parameters were selected to be studied: 1- Serum: Total cholesterol (TC), TG, HDL-C and CETP mass. 2- Visceral WAT: Leptin content. 3-Liver tissues: MDA content. Gene expressions of apo A-I, apo A-II, apo B and CETP. This was followed by histopathological study for aortic sections to illustrate general structural changes in aortic tissues using H&E. |
