Abstract

A global CVD epidemic is rapidly evolving, and the burden of disease is shifting. Twice as many deaths from CVD now occur in developing as in developed countries. The vast majority of CVD can be attributed to conventional risk factors blood pressure, high cholesterol, extensive tobacco and alcohol use, and low vegetable and fruit consumption are already among the top risk factors for disease. Also discuss how to assessing and managing a person’s overall CVD risk, the policy aspects of improving cardiovascular prevention in primary care and an important role of family physician in the detection, treatment, and monitoring of patients with raised risk of cardiovascular diseases,
how proportion of CVD could be prevented by lifestyle modifications alone. Primary care plays an important role in the detection, treatment, and monitoring of patients with raised risk of cardiovascular diseases
