Abstract
In the present study we aimed to evaluate the preemptive analgesic effect of morphine and gabapentin and combination of both morphine and gabapentin in patients undergoing upper abdominal laparotomies for upper abdominal tumours . We found that the combined preemptive morphine and gabapentin has the best preemptive effect as regard control of postoperative pain in the form of the longest time to demand for analgesia.
