Abstract Summary Photo analytical techniques for assessment of some important pharmaceutical products The study presented in this thesis includes development and application of some analytical techniques namely spectrophotometry for the determination of some active drugs and amino acids (e.g. Xipamide and histidine). The thesis is divided into 3 chapters. Chapter one:- Includes a general introduction on lanthanides and other methods used for determination of Xipamide and histidine. Chapter two:- Describes a highly selective and sensitiv spectrofluorimetric method for the assessment of xipamide in pharmaceutical tablets and serum sample based on the change in luminescence intensity of the Optical sensor Tb3+ ion. After the addition of different concentrations of XIP into the Tb3+ ion in acetonitrile, the intensity of the characteristic peak at 545 nm of Tb3+ was enhanced indicating that XIP can form a complex with Tb3 ion. Limit of detection (LOD) = 8.5x 10-10mol L-1. Chapter three:- Describes a highly selective and sensitive spectrofluorimetric method for the assessment of histidine in serum sample based on the quenching of luminescence intensity of the Optical sensor nano Eu-norfloxacine complex doped in sol-gel matrix at pH=7.6 and λex=380 nm. Limit of detection (LOD) = 3x10-10mol L-1. |
