المستخلص TV drama is one of the most favorite materials for the audience, especially the serials. The present study seeks to survey and analyze the social values in the Arabic drama and the satisfactions it fulfills and provides for the Egyptian audience. It also aims to examine the content of social values involved in the TV serials and to know whether the Egyptian audiences realize the social values involved in such drama or not. It surveys the positive and the negative values involved in the Arabic TV drama. The sample of the study consists 7 Egyptian TV serials, including (334) parts, with (45) minutes for each (278 hours and 20 minutes for all). These serials have been present on Al- Hayat (1) channel (the red one) and MBC. The study includes 400 respondents selected from Zagazig University, Mansoura University and Information Administration. Content Analysis and a Questionnaire have been used for analyzing the content of the serials. Data have been collected via personal interviews in order to keep them accurate and secret. Data have been analyzed and the percentage of respondents` answers, either positive or negative, have been calculated. The results show that the Egyptian TV serials provide the required satisfaction for the audiences. They indicate TV serials contribute continuously to enhancing the culture and the knowledge of the audiences. They also assert that TV serials reflect the social values that are useful for all, and satisfy the needs of the audiences. The study recommends that TV drama should tackle more contemporary problems , and to present the religious point of view in solving them. It is necessary to address the audiences` minds through persuasive contentions so that the message is delivered via reason and logic. |
