Abstract
Sputum examination is one of the most valuable
investigation as regards chest diseases It is observed
that examinsers of the sputum concentrate on the presence
of bacteria Fungi and other living organisms although
acellular bodies arc also present in the sputum.
Our work repLesents the search for the presence
of oxalate crystals in the sputum which is considered
one of the most important acellular bodies in the
sputum. We try to find its diagnostic value and its
relation to different broncho pulmonary diseases
In order to benefit from this finding as regards
the results and the treatment a thorough study of the
acellular tJodies 0specially oxalate crystals in the
sputum pul·monary oxalosis and aspergillosis would
be essential and we hope that this work will serve
this purpose
More over a practical study of the oxalate crystals
in the sputum, skin sensitivity tests and precipitin
tests for aspergilli will serve to provide a deeper
ir•sight on tl1e relation of oxalate crystals to the
different bronchopulmonary diseases
