Abstract

Hepatocellular carcinoma is the most common primary liver cancer and has a world wide distribution. Interventional therapies of HCC have an increasingly important role in the treatment of liver malignancies. This study was conducted in Tropical Medicine Department Tanta University& Interventional Radiology Department Ain Shams University Hospitals starting from April 2013 on 40 HCC patients, 28 males and 12 females with age ranged between 43-74 years. The HCC patients were divided into two groups:- 1st group included 20 patients with HCC treated by TACE only.2nd group included 20 patients with HCC treated by TACE and adjuvant dose of Low Molecular Weight Heparins. All patients were subjected to:- Full clinical assessment, liver function, viral markers. Abdominal U/S before, weekly after TACE procedure and when occurs any complication. Alfa fetoprotein before and one, three month after the procedures. Triphasic spiral CT abdomen and pelvis was done to all HCC patients before the procedures and one months after procedures.
