Abstract This study is concerned with the description of structural changes in rat parotid gland after exposure to900 MHz mobile phone-induced EMW prenatally and postnatally for 7 days,14 days ,21 days and 28 days for 4 hours/day. To display the effect of mobile phone -induced EMW on rat parotid gland, we used10 pregnant females albino rats in this experiment. Two pregnant females albino rats were exposed to RFR for 4 hours daily until the date of delivery, the remaining pregnant females not exposed to RFR. These findings lead to the conclusion that ionizing radiation promotes variable degenerative changes in the parotid salivary glands of the prenatally and postnatally exposed rats. changes are directly related to the duration of exposure to radiation. These data supporting the concept that the exposure to mobile phone radiation has a hazardous effect on the parotid gland of children, adolescents and even of the prenatally exposed embryos. |
