Abstract This investigation was carried out during two successive seasons of 20] 0 and 20] ], at the Nursery and the Laboratory of Fac. Agric., Minia Univ. aiming to study the influence of compost (0, 25, 2.50 and 3.75 ton/fed.) and natural substances i.e. vitamins (ascorbic acid, a-tocopherol and thiamine, each at 200 and 400 ppm) and active yeast at 2.5 and 5 g/l. as well as, control treatment and their interaction on vegetative growth, yield and yield components, guaran productivity and chemical constituents of guar plants. The most important results could be summarized as follows: 1- Effect of organic fertilizer (compost) on: 1-1- Vegetative growth characters The use of compost at all levels significantly increase plant growth namely, plant height, stem diameter, number of branches/plant, leaf area, fresh and dry weights of shoots/plant and fresh weight of shoot/fed. as compared with control. The best results of these characters were obtained due to using the high level of compost (3.75 ton/fed.). 1-2- Nodules/root: The low level of compost (1.25 ton/fed.) was superior than other two levels of compost which significantly increased number of nodules/root and fresh weight per root. 1-3- Root system • The high level of compost (3.75 ton/fed.) significantly increased root fresh and dry weights/plant comparing with control treatment. |
