Abstract The main of the present study is to investigate the effect of using games and cross-word puzzles on developing second year preparatory school pupils’ vocabulary skills. Report of study consists of four Chapters, Chapter I discusses the problem and its significance . Chapter II provides a review of literature and the theoretical background of vocabulary skills . Chapter III presents material and methods . Chapter IV presents results and discussion of the study . The study is classified as an experimental one . Sixty four second year preparatory school pupils were participated in the program. Experimental group students were trained in the vocabulary skills, whereas students of the control group received no such training . Tools of study included a questionnaire for teachers and a vocabulary skills test . Statistical analysis revealed that students of the experimental group surpassed those of the control group. |
