Abstract

Adolescent, the period between childhood and adulthood, begins after secondary sexual characteristics (e.g. pupic hair) appear and continues until sexual maturity is complete. In adolescence, young people face substantial physical and emotional changes and they are often insecure and have problems such as reproductive health problems, eating disorders, mental disorders and risk taking behavior. (Michele et al., 2008).
Young people may be at risk for reproductive health problems because they have many barriers to use reproductive health services related to many factors include: barriers related to adolescent girls as (cultural, economic social and psychological barriers), barriers related to services as (confidentiality, accessibility and facilities of the services) and barriers related to health workers as lack of knowledge, experiences, guidance and interaction from health care providers (FHI, 2009)
Aim of the study:
To assess barriers for seeking health services among adolescent girls with reproductive health problems through:
- Assess factors that prevent adolescent’s girls using reproductive health services.
- Assess knowledge among adolescent girls about reproductive health services.
- Assess attitude among adolescent’s girls toward reproductive health services

Three responses were offered for each statement; Positive, Uncertain, Negative. It consisted of 10 statements, scored as followed: Positive response given three scores, uncertain response given two scores and Negative response scored as one. Twenty scores represented uncertain attitude, more than twenty scores considered positive attitude while less than twenty considered as negative one.
The present study revealed that:
• The study sample suffered from reproductive problems and menstrual problems as abdominal pain, excessive discharge, irregularity of period, itching & dysurea, odered vaginal discharge.
• The study sample face many factors prevent them to use reproductive health services include factors related to adolescent as a shamed from being examined, fear from painful examination and fear from examination, factor related provider as lack of nurses and doctor care of these age group and factor related to services as no presence of reproductive health clinics for adolescents.
• The study sample had poor knowledge and negative attitude toward reproductive health services.
