Abstract This study explain the Impact of local application of Polylactide / Polyglycolide Copolymer on mandibular bone healing alone and in combination with tetracycline on bone healing in Ninety six adult male albino rats weighing (200-250 gm). And divided into control group, treated with Fisiograft gel only and treated with Fisiograft gel and tetracycline, thirty two animals each. Animals in these groups were subjected to surgical bone defect in the mandible only; second one these defects were filled with bone graft material (fisiograft gel). And at the last group were subjected to bone defect surgery in the mandible and filled with bone graft material (fisiograft gel) mixed with tetracycline. 1- Animals of all groups were euthanized (2, 4, 6& 8 weeks respectively). And were processed for paraffin technique and stained with (H&E), Masson’s trichrome, Immunhistochemical markers: CD68, Ki67. Upon its results digital image analysis was conducted. The other side of bone defect for Spectrophotometer testing and this study concluded that local application of copolymer alone and in combination with Tetracyclines in mandibular bone defect lead to acceleration in the rate of bone healing, decrease the inflammatory conditions and increase the calcium level of local application of Polylactide/Polyglycolide copolymer in combination with Tetracyclines more than local application alone. |
