Abstract

Egypt contains many monumental buildings which considered as a world heritage. So those buildings deserves a great attention from us. In Egypt there are many problems which faces our monument such as the under ground water and the envirmonmental conditions. The main objectsives of this work are :designing and investigating suitable monitoring systems for monumental buildings in Egypt for temples, tombs and Churches or Mosques. To monitor, investigate and cracks, tempratures, humidity, Co2,wind direction and wind speed. To establish the national surveying rules which should be taken into consideration when studying an conservation project in Egypt. To discuss the reliability, applicability and accuracy of the close range photogrammetric technique in documentation and monitoring. To design a simple fourth dimension GIS system to collect, store, and handle the obtained data in an easy manner. To achive these objects a precise system by using Close Range Digital Work Station is used to documen the area under studies (Luxor temple- Coptic area- peth hoptep tomp). Also different monitoring systems were established to monitor the studied areas by different monitoring techniques such as manual ,automatic and motorized total station techniques. Finally asuitable monitoring systems are designed for the different monuments in Egypt with a considerable accuracy and a trend statistical analysis. The principles of using the close range of photogrammetry are introduced by using close range digital work station in documentation and monitoring.
