Abstract All (significa ACBC In conducti perforate BCA( The tympanic membrane is a thin, semitransparent membrane, some what oval in shape that stretches across th·;: ear canal separating :he middle ear (tympanum) from the outer ear (external acoustic meatus). Tympanum perforation is an injury (opening, erosion, or rupture) to the tympanic membrane (eardrum) which results from trauma to the ear ,infection,tumours and iatrogenic causes CSOM. was found to be more common in Egypt and strongly associated with low socioeconomic status usually resulting in . ate presentation. TMP diagnosed through history from patient and clin~cal examination through otoscopic examination ,Tuning fork tests and irvestigation through pure tone eudiometry. Only 56 patient have TMP without other middle ear diseases attended to outpatient clinic of Ear, Nose and Throat in Minia University Hospital from June 2011 to December 2011 sharing in our study. Age ranges from 8-60 year, mean age 28.6 with 26 (46.4%) males and 30 (53.6%) females. 23 case (41.1%) presented by bilateral perforation,33 case(58.9%) presented by unilateral perforation with 17 case (51.5%) Rt sided perforation and 16 case (48.5%) LT sided perforation.
