Abstract It is a member of picoma virus family (/Jlelnick, 1982). The Vlms is a small, non envolred virus approximetaly 27 nm in diamater (Day and Lemon 1992). The VIruS transmitted fium person to person by FeeD-oral route (Fros/ler, 1991). Transmission by blood seems to be rare only few cases of post transfusion HAV has been reported (Dbu/a Zans, 1992) .• Geographic distribution: In developing countries of AtTica, Asia, and South America, where all individual become anti HA V postive individual dming childhood and remam postive during adulthood and decline in older age group (Frosller, 1991) . .• High risk groups: Homosexual men show an increase prevalence of anti- HA V (Cory and Holms, 1980). Another high risk group toHA V includes travelers and tourists coming from an endemic area. |
