Abstract The exchange of the usage of some reinforced concrete structures may lead to the increase of the applied loads. Demolishing and rebuild of these structures to resist the new loads faces great difficulties and costs. However strengthening methods and techniques for the different structures members become of vital importance as economic approach to this problem. The main goal of this research is to carried out a comparative study between the different methods of strengthening reinforced concrete slabs using traditional and advanced materials to find out these structural and economical efficiency. Strengthening of reinforced concrete slab is mainly used for having tow objectives. First is to increase the ultimate load capacity , second to repair the distressed slab, and satisfying the factor of safety. The repairing of concrete slabs has become one of the very important frequent problems. Which the structure engineer should tackle. Slabs are considered the most critical structure element in any repairing process. This research tries to determine and compare the influence of the various repair methods on cracking behavior and load capacity of slabs. |
