Abstract Zakia Kamal Lotfy Saber El-Khiat: The Mutual Effects between Package Material and Certain Pesticide Formulations. Unpublished M.Sc. Thesis, Department of Plant Protection, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain Shams University, 2009. The present study aimed to shed the light on the interactions between package material and some pesticide formulations. The obtained results indicated that there was a relationship between package material and type of formulation. Data indicated that the physical and chemical properties of pesticide formulation affect greatly the selection of the proper type of packages. Storing pesticide formulations in different package types resulted in observable changes in their physical and chemical properties. UV irradiation of the pesticide formulation resulted in the occurrence of considerable rate of degradation of its active ingredient (a.i) content compared to less degradation under tested storage conditions. The effects of different chemical reagents, i.e. solvent, water and pesticide formulations on the physical and chemical properties of the packages were studied to determine how far the package is suitable for the used pesticide formulations. The effects on the physical properties of the package were investigated by Scanning Electron Microscopy (S.E.M). Chemical properties of PET packages were tested by UV and IR that were used for (PA) and (EVOH) packages. from the results, it can be concluded that the different package types interacted and affected the pesticide formulations. Key Words: Package, Physical, Chemical, Properties, Pesticide, Formulation, Storage, UV Irradiation. |
