Abstract Optimal locating of power distribution substation and feeder routing is necessary in a new expansion planning. The optimum design of the network is carried out by minimizing the total cost of the distribution system under some existing constraints. In this thesis Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been used to obtain the best location of substation and the optimal number of feeders outgoing from it. The proposed algorithm has been applied for different distributed loads, dispersed in a region of different areas to be fed by one substation. The planning problem can be classified into: conductor grading problem, routing problem and general planning problem. In this work, routing problem and general planning problem are considered. |
