Abstract This study was carried out in the greenhouse and laboratories of the Molecular Biology Department, Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Institute, Minufiya University, Sadat City, Egypt, during the period from 2005-2007 to study some physiological, biochemical and molecular genetic markers associated with drought tolerance of six bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars i.e., (four cultivars Sakha 93, Sids 1, Gemmiza 9 and Gemmiza 7 are Egyptian cultivars, Giza 168 is Mexican and the sixth cultivar Elnilein is Sudanese) and control. |
