Abstract
Soil nematode survey of some vegetable crops (okra, tomato,cowpea, and cucumber ) and orange orchards, banana plantations , and grape vineyards were carried out in two destricts (Mallawy & El-Minia ) governorate during 1993 and 1994seasons. Seven nematode genera viz, Helicotylenchus, Hoplolaimus, longidorus, meloidogyne ,pratylenchus, Rotylencuhus, and Xiphinema,were found in soils of vegetable and fruit crops. One more genus tylenchulus) was detected in soils of fruit crops. Three genera, viz, meloidogyne,Helicotylenchus, and pratylenchus, were present in ali soils of vegetable and fruit crops in both destricts and seasons. Genus longid was not found in okra soil in both destricts, in cucumber in El-Minia , and in orange in Mallawy in both seasons. Genus Xiphinema also was not found in banana soil in both destricts, and in orange and okra soils in El-Minia in both seasons .Rotyenchuhus and tylenchulus were not found in banana soils in Mallawy and El-Minia ,respectively , in both seasons .some genera were absent in 1993 but present in 1994 season, e.g. ,Xiphunema in okra , cowpea, and orange , longidorus in cucumber .
