Abstract

This report deals with studying steam power station as general and the main components of sidi lair power station (the boiler, turbine and condenser) as a case study.
Then, it explains the auxiliaries of the power station (circulating cooling water pump, boiler feed water pump, condensate water pump, high &low feed water heaters, service water system, and closed cooling system).
Also it gives thermal analysis for the power plant.
Firstly, the values of the enthalpy of each point on the cycle were obtained.
Then, energy and mass balance were Performed to the high pressure feed water heaters NO.6 and No.? and low pressure feed water heaters No.!, 2,3,4,5 Bled steam mass flow rate for each feed water heater was determined, hence we can calculate the thermal efficiency of the plant and compare it with the real efficiency from the panel output in case of full load and part load.
Lastly, we deal with the multi stage flash desalination plant of sidi lair power station by explaining the main components of the plant and each system in the plant with its equipment.
