Abstract
The determination The abjetcive of this study is to introduce a simple procedure for of the optimum mixirg percetage of cotton fiber grades that will achieve the lowest cost of producing a specified yarn quality. Alsa, the relation between spinnirg processes variability and departure from the target value, by which catton spinning processes become techno-economically feasible has been investigated in this work.
A suggested statistical technique based on the required quality level of the spinning processes output within the allowable loss range was introduced.
This techinique has proven to be in agreement with the results taken from USTER instruments. furthermore, the suggestcd technique proved to be effrctive for defining the expected quality loss resulting from the process when compared with the presenlty used statistical techniques. Therefore, the suggested statistical technique can be used as a quality improvement tool in cotton spinning industry for optimizing quality of the processes output as well as the economical feasibility.
