Abstract Two hundred and sixty five animals from both dairy and beef lots were subjected to clinical examination {60 buffaloes- 205 cattle (75 native breed and 130 foreign breed)}. These animals were suffering from respiratory manifestation. A total of 385 samples (265 nasal and 120 ocular swabs) were collected from buffaloes and cattle of different ages- species- sex and different season for virus isolation in seven Govemorates. Out of 385 samples, 30 cytopathic viral agents could be isolated from different swabs. Sixteen BHV -1 isolates were identified by PCR where fifteen BHV -1 isolates were identified by VNT and fourteen BHV -1 isolates were identified by IPT. Total 999 serum samples were collected from unvaccinated cattle and buffaloes from different Govemorates were used in these study. All serum samples were tested by AGPT, SNT and ELISA. Out of 95 paired serum samples from unvaccinated diseased and were examined for detection of specific antibodies against IBR with 15 days apart. 354 serum samples were collected, 94 from vaccinated pregnant dams 2-5 years (one month before parturition) after second dose of vaccination, 150 from calves( one week, 4 weeks and 8weeks of age) from vaccinated dams( token colostrum) and 110 from vaccinated calves of age 4 month (one month after 2nd dose of vaccination). |
