Abstract The present study was carried out in two years from 1994 to 1995 aiming to clarify the true status of brucellosis in area of suez canal ( port said – Ismalia and suez ) using different diagnostic tests on blood serum and milk. Trials for isolation and identification of brucella organisms were also carried out on milk, Iymph nodes, spleen and aborted faetus of some serologically positive animals. Blood sera from 5879 animals (2816 cows, 1414 buffaloes, 893 sheep and 756 goats) were examined using tube agglutination test (TAT), buffered acidified plate test (BAPT), rose Bengal plate test (R.B.PT), Rivanol test (Riv.T) and mercaptoethanol test (M.E.T). |
