Abstract Finally, we can conclude that: - Reflux in a serious thread to the kidney function. - Every patient with reflux, however minor, should be carefully monitored and followed up. We fell that what matters in the follow up is not only the grade of reflux, but the patient should be carefully monitored for breakthrough UTI, renal scarring and renal function. - In light of our modern knowledge of reflux, we feel that almost all kidneys with refluxing ureters can be salvaged by proper chemoprophylaxis, careful monitoring, and timely intervention. - low grade reflux (1-3) usually resolves and conservative treatment. - In advanced reflux (grade 4-5), usually the response of conservative management IS 1 ess successful. SO, surgical treatment is recommended in such Cases. - As the results of surgical correction of reflux are excellent, no patients with reflux who shows resistant UTr under medical treatment or progressive renal scarring or deterioration of the renal function, should be denied the benefit of the antireflux surgery. |
