Abstract Assertiveness is a term used to describe behaviors that a person can use to stand up for him self and his rights without violating the rights of others. (Sullivan &Decker, 1999). Conflict is defined as clash that occur when one balance among feelings ,thoughts ,values ,needs ,priorities ,desires and behaviors is threatens ,these disturbance result in incompatible behavior that interfere with goal attainment (Robbins , 2000)Nursing productivity is defined as converting resources into products and services efficiency, effectively and with optimum utilization of human capital and physical resource for the benefits of society, the economy and the environment. (James, 2004). The aim of the present study is to explore the effect of assertiveness and conflict resolution skills utilized on nursing care productivity in different health care sectors at Menofyia Governorate. Therefore, descriptive, quesi-expermental research design was used in the conduction of the present study. The present study was conducted in three health care sectors at Shebin El- Kom, Menoufiya governorate Egypt. Namely, Menoufiya University Hospital, Shebin El-kom Teaching Hospital, and El Helal Hospital. Three different tools were used in this study namely: 1-Assertiveness questionnaire 2-Conflict resolution inventory and 3-Professional productivity checklist, to collect the data from 140 staff nurses, and 30 nurse managers (12 male nurses and 158 female nurses). In addition a questionnaire format was used to collect the socio-demographics characteristics of the study subjects. The main findings of the present study revealed that: (1) a majority of staff nurses at university hospital ,Shibin El kom teaching hospital and El -helal hospital had high assertiveness degree The higher percentage of staff nurses have moderate conflict resolution skills.(2) There was Statistically significant between |
