Abstract On basis of the results obtained in this study , : 1- the definition of reading as a passive skill should be eliminated from textbooks designed for student teachers. from this study , it is apparent that reading is an active learning process which needs a considerable effort on the part of the learner and also the teacher. 2- a macro view of beginning reading should be emphasized in foreign language methodology. it is not a skill that requieres only the association of pre-acquired sounds with their visual counterparts. it is a hierarchy of skills. |
