Abstract Neonatal sepsis is term used to describe the systemic response to infection in the newborn infant. It is a disease of infants who are younger than one month of age, critically ill and have positive blood cultures. The aim of this study is to review the incidence of infective endocarditic (IE) as a complication of sepsis on normal heart structure and also to evaluate the role of echocardiography in diagnosing IE in cases with neonatal septicemia. |
