Abstract This thesis is concered with the problem of the reduction in the ship’s longitudinal strength after grounding. New formule and computer programs are proposed to predict the sectional modulii and the resdul hull grider ulimate bending moments andhence the residual strength index. To achieve this goal, two scenarios for the upward deflection of the bottom due to grounding was suggested, and two modes of bottom due to grounding was suggested, and two modes of bottom collapse are investageted, the plate collapse mode and the ftiffener collapse mode. |
