المستخلص As the lodging sector evolves into a more technology-oriented industry, the need to understand e-Procurement practices becomes more important for food supply chain. The main purpose of this study is to understand the ability of Egyptian hotels to adopt e-procurement technology in food supply chain management and discuss the benefits and challenges which facing decision makers at hotels for adopting and implementing e-Procurement applications. A field study was conducted with the purchasing managers in 32 five star hotels in Great Cairo representing 100 percent of the hotel chains in Great Cairo according to the calculation of the (Egyptian Hotel Guide ,2010). The collected data have been classified and tabulated to be thoroughly analyzed through computer software. The researcher has calculated the necessary percentages and formed the required repetitive tables to satisfy one of the most important descriptive statistical techniques in identifying and defining the research variables and their repetition rates within the drawn sample. |
