Abstract The aim of the work is to review laparoscopmic management of different types of ovarian tumours.Ovarian swellings are common in women of all ages. They may be neoplastic or non-neoplastic and may arise from any tissue in the ovary. Tumors are classified histologically according to World Health Organization classification. The three most common cell types are the epithelial, sex cord-stromal, and germ cell tumors. For optimal planning of treatment, it would be useful to be able to distinguish not only between benign and malignant or between different types of benign pathology but also between different types of malignancy, for instance, between ovarian borderline tumors, early and advanced ovarian cancer and pelvic metastasis. |
