Abstract Cyclophosphamide is one of the most widely used anti-neoplastic and immunosuppressive agents. It is considered as an essential component of many effective drug regimens. As other drugs; it has variable hazardous effects especially on the rapidly proliferating cells. So, the germinal epithelium of testis is considered as one of the vulnerable targets. Few literature were available concerning the effect of cyclophosphamide on the testis and how long it persists. Therefore, this work was performed to investigate the effect of cyclophosphamide treatment on the histological structure of the testis of adult male albino rat. Also, immunohistochemical study, assessment of testosterone hormone in serum and morphometrical analysis were performed. Moreover, the possible role of vitamin E supplementation and drug withdrawal were explored. |
