Abstract The following are the main cinclusions: 1) Inbreeding causes retardation of growth by increasing the number of recessive genes in the homozygous state ( due to inbreeding ). These recessive genes cause inbreeding depression of anthropometric measurements which are polygenic and multifactorial traits. 2) Inbreeding depression starts at early stage after fertilization and increases and becomes more apparent with advancement of age . 3) Presence of non significant depressing effect of inbreeding may be due to interference of non genetic factors that tend to reduce or overshadow the inbreeding depression. 4) Inbreeding depression of anthropometrics may be affected by age and sex factors. 5) sexual differences of anthropometrics are present in both the infantile and pubertal groups however they are more evident in the later group. |
