Abstract Chronic Wrist pain accounts for a considerable degree of wrist dysfunction, lost time from work and interference with daily activies. Patients presenting with chronic wrist pain often from a diagnostic problem for the treating physician. The wrist is a complex joint both anatomically and functionally. The wrist joint is formed of three comparttments , namely the distal radioulnar, the radiocarpal and the midcarpal compartments. Many intrinsic and extrinsic ligaments support and stabilize the wrist. The most important of which are the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) , the scapholunate ligament (SLL) and the lunotriqutral ligament (LTL) Injury of any of these ligaments , may compromise the stability and function of the wrist. |
