Abstract In this work the prevalence of rheumatic heart disease among school children in EL-Minia was reported. 15229 school children were examined, of whom 11200 (73.5%) were males and 4029 (26.5%) were females, from 20 schools; half of them were in rural areas and the other half were in urban ones. There ages ranged from 6-16 years. It is concluded from this study that, all attempts must be done to diagnose rheumatic heart disease as early as possible to protect the heart from being damaged, and in those patients presenting with rheumatic heart disease, the different hemodynamic changes and complications must be searched for in order to give the adequate treatment and more better to give the proper prophylaxis. |
