Abstract Aim of the work To study the predictors of failure of arterio-venous fistulae for maintenance hemodialysis to stand at the main requisites for success of such an access. Conclusion 1- Radio-cephalic A-V fistulae continue to be the gold standard vascular access known and remain the first choice for vascular access. Brachio-cephalic A-V fistulae is considered the second choice for angioaccess. 2- Bad veins, bad hemodynamic status (hypertension or hypotension) and fever are good predictors of AVF complications. 3- Infection is the most common types of complications associated with AVF. 4- Ligation of the AVF is the most common line of treatment of the patients with complicated AVF. |
