Abstract Crossing between new zealand white and local baladi rabbits in both directions was performed by using 20 does and 4 bucks of each breeds to evaluate the two purebreds and their reciprocal crosses for the important reproductive and productive traits. Results obtained could be summarized as follows: 1- litter performance: mating type differences in litter performance were signifcant (p< 0.01) except litter size at birth and preweaning mortality. New zealand white rabbits born and weaned larger and heavier litters and lower preweaning mortality rate than local baladi rabbits. Cross and reciprocal cross between new zealand white and local baladi rabbits produced larger and heavier litters either at birth or at weaning and lower preweaning mortality rate than the average of their parental purebreds. 2.postweaning growth performance.. 3.carcass trairs.. |
