Abstract Among 303 fungal isolates , one was chosen as the efficient phosphate solubilizing fungal strain . This strain , which was identified as Aspergillus niger produced the highest amount of soluble-P (560PPM) corresponding to the lowest PH value (2.46) after four daysof growth in liquid medium containing precipitated phosphate. The chosen Aspergillus niger in addition to an identified Trichoderma viride strain were used separately or together as fungal activators for composting rice straw , bagasse or their 1:1 mixture enriched with rock phosphate . Qualities of the produced composts using the fungal activator (s) were compared with those obtained by inoculation with farmyard manure (FM) + the fungal activator(s) in either laboratory or pile experiments. |
