Abstract All Possible Combinations ignoring reciprocals made among the eight wheat durm cultivars (tritcum durum dsef) belong to three different diverse origins ; ( cocorit ” S”, jori c-69.cocrit c-71.and garza, from mexico ), ( leads , rolette and wells, from north dakoth , u. s. a. ), and ( hercules , from canada), the main objective of this investigation was to determine the extent of heterosis over mid and better parents the nature of general and specific combining ability effects , as obtanined by diallel cross analysis, and to study the correlation coefficients and inter relationships among yield , yield components and certain morphological characters., Significant mid-parent heterosis in the eight parent diallel crosses was founf for grain yield (49.43%) number of spikes per plant (17.70%) , number of kernels per spike, (21.46%) , 1000-kernel weight (20.16%) plant height (11.81%) peduncle length (15.68%) , flag leaf area (39.08%) days to heading ( 5.50%) and grain protein content(8.43%) .. |
