Abstract This investigation was carried out during 1989 and 1990 seasons on tamr and sewy date palms grown in a sandy soil at El-Oakhlah oasis, new valley Governorate. The research undertaken aimed to evaluate the effect of different levels of N and some micronutrients on growth, leaf mineral content. Yield and fruit quality of both date cvs . This experiment included the application of four N rates. Namely 0.0. 500. 1000 and 1500 g, N per palm annually. One half of the N treated palms was spraved with a combined micronutrient solution containing Zn, Fe, Cu and Mn each at 400 ppm. Whereas the socend half was water sprayed. Nitrogen (in the form of urea 46.5 % N), at the named rates was divided into three equal portions and applied at the first week of March, April and June in the two seasons of the experiment. Micronutrients (in the form of sulphates ) at the mentioned concentration was sprayed three times at the same timing of N applications. |
