Abstract The ectoparasitic mite (Varroa jacobsoni Oud) is one of the most destructive pests of bee Apis mellifera, distributed over the world leaving Varroasis without control surely will lead to collapse of the infested honeybee colonies. Therefore, beekeepers had to apply chemical control against this parasite Selection for an affective compound to control this mite should associated with studying its side effect on the treated colonies and its residues of bee products.The present work was carried out at Maghagha district,Minia, Egypt and aimed to study the following points: 1- Evaluation of the efficacy of the certain acaricides against Varroa mite infested honeybee colonies. 2- Assessment of the side effects of the applied acarieides on the individuals(queen,workers,drones)of the treated colonies. 3- Determination of residues of the applied acaricides in products of the treated honeybee colonies. |
