Abstract In the present work, four of the promising local faba bean varieties (Giza 2, S-40, Giza 716 and Giza Blancha) that can be used in breeding programs, were examined to assess their ability and response to tissue culture and plant regeneration. In addition, attempts are made to examine their cytological stability and to find out certain molecular markers identifying them. The cytological-stability studies, however, were further extended to include both of the induced callus and the regenerated plantles |
