Abstract The present study was carried out on a total of one hundred quails showing respiratory manifestation and sudden death. They were used for the isolation and identification of pasteurella species from different organs. This study was also directed to determine the best site in the body of the dird for isolation of this group of organisms & best antibiotics used to be effective against pasteurella multocida. Another fifty guails were used to study the best selective media used to isolate P.multocida without contamination. The quail were collcted from faculty of agriculture, Kafer El sheikh, Tanta University and from private farms. The total rate of isolation of Pasteurella species from moribund quails was 67%. |
