Abstract Aim of the work To introduce and evaluate safety and efficacy of parabulbar (flush) anesthesia in cataract surgery. Conclusion parabulbar (flush) method of local anesthesia used in cataract surgery was found to be easy, simple, effective and safe. It avoids the introducing of a sharp or hard instrument without visualization into the orbit. The anesthetic effect is immediate and almost total, most of patients (90%) exerted total comfort during surgeries. Despite of residual eye movement, that needed a supplement, a high incidence of subconjunctival hemorrhage or edema, results in this thesis about parabulbar anesthesia permits safer pain free cataract surgery. |
