Abstract

The present experimental work was planned to study the effect of Se
and Zn on the immune response in sheep and lasted for 45 days.
A total number of fifteen clinically healthy local breed ewes (non-
pregnant) 2.5 - 3.5 years old with average body weight of 50-60 kg were
used in this experimental study, which belonging to private farm at EI-
Mollak, Abo-Hammad city, Sharkia Governorate. All ewes were clinically
examined and routine fecal and blood examination were carried out for the
detection of any blood and internal parasites and then they were divided
into 3 groups:
Group I: Five ewes (control group) were vaccinated with F11D vaccine
only.
Group 11: Five ewes (Se-injected group) were vaccinated with FIv1D
vaccine and simultaneously injected S.C. with Na selenite
solution at zero time, then at the days 7 & 15 of experiment.
Group Ill: Five ewes (Zn-injected group) vaccinated with F11D vaccine
and simultaneously injected I1V with Zn sulphate solution at zero
time of the experiment then at the days 7 and 15 of experiment.
Two blood samples were taken at first day of injection, then after 7,
15, 30 and 45 days. First blood samples with anticoagulant were used for
determination of total and differential leucocytic count, while the second
blood samples (serum) were used for determination Se, Zn, antibody titre
for FIv1D vaccine (serum neutralization antibody), total proteins, protein
