Abstract This study was conducted to evaluate the use of laparoscopic ovarian wedge resection as a method of ovulation induction in patients with polycystic ovarian disease. The results of the operation would be 100% ovulation and pregnancy rate of about 25% with no risk of complications, no pelvic adhesions. It was found that laparoscopic treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome showed a number of advantages in comparison with classical ovarian wedge resection in the treatment of PCOD. An equally high ovulation rate was achieved with less trauma and fewer or even to pelvic adhesions postoperatively result in a high pregnancy rate. (Author / FT). |
